Details:
Active Region 4082 May 16th / PST h-alpha / 8mm eyepiece/ 50X Killadoon Co Mayo Ireland. 10:20 UT - 11:50 UT Pastels, Conte sticks and Conte pencils on Derwent heavy paper. The penumbra had its usual reddish hue in my h-alpha view. The action around it was intermittently clear. Some bright plage developed close to the smaller spots. I wasn't happy with my rendering of that large filaprom. It had a more gossamer look to its dramatic shape. In occasional sharp views, it appeared to be anchored in three places. Towards the limb, it was darker. No matter how often I refocused and retuned, I could not observe any material escaping the limb.
