Details:
An image obtained using the iTelescope T59 0.51-m f/6.8 reflector telescope. An H-alpha filter was used to suppress reflected sunlight from the Moon. The telescope is located at Siding Spring Observatory, Australia (MPC Q62). Near the bottom of the image are the craters Clavius and Tycho. On the left side of the lunar image one can see the Reiner Gamma swirl, a region where a localized magnetic field might deflect energetic particles from space weathering the surface. Various other mountain ranges, lunar rilles, and craters are clearly visible.
