Details:
Today IS the day! Venus has reached inferior conjunction 8.5° north of the sun. I used angle offsets from the sun and could see the -4 magnitude, 1% illuminated, 59.5 arcsec apparent diameter disk in my 50mm finder scope. The air is particularly unsteady this morning and a cold is blowing but the view of Venus will be well worth your efforts! This shot was made using an ES 102mm ED refractor with an TV 11mm eyepiece shot afocally into an iPhone 14. Enjoy!
