Details:
Despite a 70% waxing moon, the aurora became surprisingly bright although very little color besides green hues. This is typical of coronal hole auroras, and the brightness was probably due to it being a CIR type as well. (Corotating Interactive Region) Data indicated that plasma density was low most of the night with an occasional dense wave striking the magnetosphere; similar to being on a beach with waves coming in and occasionally one arrives with lots of flotsam and seaweed.
