Details:
At my Manorville NY Obseratoy,on 03-02-25 I tried to image in average seeing weather the dim night side glow of Venus for the first time ever. Poor weather in my area for many weeks has been a problem. I started imaging Venus at an altitude of 23.29° with the Sun only 5° below the horizon at 6:08PM EST. I imaged 5 sets of 10,000 frames to have a total of 50,000 frames. I stacked 8,000 frames for each of the 5 sets I there stacked the 5 sets together to get this image now. I had trees in the way that ended my ability to image anymore. I will reprocess this data to try and get more details from the dim night glow of Venus. To observe the dim night side glow it is necessary to massively overexpose the visible crescent.
My imaging configuration was an EdgeHD 14" / QHY200M camera / FGL 1000nm Longpass Filter in a Moonlite focuser all driven on an Astro-Physics 1600GTO German Equatorial mount with encoders.
Kind Regards To ALL 🙂
