Details:
During the recent cold spell that gripped northeastern North Dakota for several weeks Sun Dogs were often visible. On the morning of February 17 with the temperatures around -20F and the wind blowing up to 30 mph there were plenty of ice crystals in the air to create this nice set of Sun Dogs just after the Sun had risen. Wind chills were near -50F.
