Details:
Image of the Moon at an illumination of 91 percent illumination. Two prominent impact craters are seen, Copernicus and Tycho, each displaying structure in their terraced walls and central peaks. The image also highlights the dichotomy between the lunar highlands (anorthositic regions) and the maria (basaltic lava flow regions). The telescope used is the iTelescope Network's T21 Planewave 17" located at the Utah Desert Remote Observatory. An H-alpha filter was used to suppress the bright reflected sunlight from the moon.
