Details:
With a 4.3 day old moon (19.2% illumination) low on the horizon at 10:30pm NZDT I was able to obtain an image of comet C/2024 G3 (Atlas). The comet now is just visible to the naked eye from a dark location. I feel that in the next few days the moon will start to interfere. C/2024 G3 (Atlas) has given us in the southern hemisphere a lot of joy in both visually observing and imaging this comet. The image of Comet C/2024 G3 (Atlas) was captured using using a Nikon D810A camera fitted with the 70-200mm ED FL f/2.8 lens, 10 second exposure with an ISO for 3200.
