Details:
I can't believe that I got six straight clear evenings near Himatangi Beach (a small coastal community in the Manawatū-Whanganui region of New Zealand's North Island) to see visually and to photograph Comet C/2024 G3 (ATLAS). Through the 8x42 binoculars the comet tail was twice the field of view (about 16 degrees) and it looked spectacular. I image the comet with the flax bushes silhouetted in the foreground and in the second image I used the flash to illuminate the foreground.
