Details:
The Comet ATLAS (C/2024 G3) is surprising everyone in the southern hemisphere. I do not think I have seen a comet as beautiful as this one since Hale-Bopp in 1997. This is my first astrophotograph of the year and it begins in sublime fashion: an encounter between me and a distant traveler from the outer Solar System at the summer twilight in Brazil. For the image, I used a Canon EOS 6D, Samyang 135mm f2 ED UMC at f2.8, ISO 200 and exposure time of 4s. Thanks to my wife Fabíola Gomes for the shot. Processing with Adobe PS CC 2021 and Noel Carboni Astronomy Tools Actions. Maricá, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 2025 Jan 19.
