Details:
I shot without seeing the comet, at 6° from the Sun at the time of the picture, and I didn't know whether I captured it or not until I aligned and combined 20 pictures. To align them (there was no slewing on the tri-pier) I used a python script, because in single frames, without knowing with precision the exact position of the comet, I wasn't able to find it. So the script aligns images moving them by an amount of pixel that is estimated from image sampling and comet movement prediction made by Stellarium. It worked, so after I found the comet I set a more precise pixel displacement in the python script and a longer tail appeared. Focus was done on the Sun (with a solar filter), than camera was moved to hide the Sun behind the shadow of the house and pointed by hand towards the estimated position of the comet. I put also a single unprocessed shot for comparison.
