Details:
Venus has become such a conspicuous beacon in the Winter Sky. Gradually working it's way towards greatest brilliancy on Valentine's Day, observing the shrinking white disk of Earth's Evil Sister is so enjoyable. I caught Venus in daylight with a 56% illuminated disk on New Year's Eve. Using a UV filter, distinct variations in contrast can be observed in its thick carbon dioxide cloud deck.
