Details:
By observing Jupiter before and after opposition, an interesting phenomena is observing the softened edge of the planet switching sides of the disk. At 380 million miles distant, it's still possible to so observe Jupiter slightly less than 100% illuminated Jupiter due to solar system geometry. On both evenings of my observation Jupiter was photobombed by its volcanic moon Io.
