Details:
Images I obtained of a Starlink V2 mini satellite in operational orbit. The images show how much of the satellite bus is darkened as a result of recent modifications in brightness mitigation of the Starlinks. Mainly only the outer edges of the bus are illuminated. Compare to the approximate sketch of a V2 mini bus to the right.
In this image we tend to see a sort of crescent shape, plausible is that some light is reflected from the bus' long axis edge in this case. In most images I took, an edge isn't visible though, only the 2 outer edges.
Beeing aware of how faint the remaining light of the satellite is, it's photo-technically amazing that this image could still be captured using a simple manually tracking setup and at 10 inches aperture, were there are lots of technical limitations.
