Details:
This is not a good apparition for Mercury in the northern hemisphere, with the ecliptic at a shallow angle with the horizon, but I managed to capture it anyway. Getting the image was made even more complicated due to its hiding behind clouds and blending in with the crowd of airplanes (you're looking SW towards Las Vegas; at night its light dome is clearly visible from St. George 120 miles away). Labeled and unlabeled versions.

There was a similar photo taken a couple days earlier of Venus and Mercury from the southern hemisphere (link here). It's interesting to compare the relative tilt between the two planets in the two images due to the difference in latitudes--now imagine the entire sky being tilted that way.
