Details:
Here is my best close-up image to date of the Comet C/2023 A3!!!
You definitely want to put this up full screen!
Captured while the comet was cruising through the Constellation Ophiuchus, this star rich Milky Way field made for a very nice backdrop to capture the comet under moonless/darker skies.
Taken with my 8" F2.2 RASA scope last Saturday night on 10/26/2024.
The comet is much higher in the sky, now clearing the trees in the West, so I can now capture it from my Observatories at JBSPO.
This image is showing the Comet's Green outer coma, wide white/red dust tail, with inner dust tail streamers, and yes the Anti-Tail is still there, although it is much fainter as the Comet moves further from the Sun.
Comet C/2023 A3 Tsuchinshan-Atlas was captured on 10-26-2024 I was imaging from about 7:30pm(background sky was still a bit too bright), but started my dark data run from 8:00pm until 9pm LT, by 9:15pm the comet started to drop below the tree line.
