ULTRABRIGHT FLARE ! video with original sound https://www.newsflare.com/video/690680/ I had been informed by the Facebook Starlink Satellite Observing Group about the Starlink G10-8 flying right over my location in the swiss Alps one and a half day after launch, so I was ready to shoot video again ( have filmed dozens of Starlink trains since early 2000 , see my youtube channel playlist ). But this train broke all records in brightness ! The train appeared in the SW , much brighter than usually, and exploded in brightness , flaring vividly , at least as bright as Iridium flares did 20 years ago, as bright as a halfmoon... The train was at brightest at around 20-30 degrees elevation, then returned to normal brightness which was still good, as it was flying near zenith, and probably was a good mag. 2 at highest passage, then I lost it in the glare of the stadium lighting of Alaïa Bay surfspot where I was ( shooting surfing video just before the Starlink train flyby ). I was shooting video with Sony a7s2 and Mitakon lens 35mm f/0.95 in aps-c crop mode at 53mm FF equiv, and the very bright satellite train exploded in intensity as it was reflecting the bright sunlight, not just the normal sunlit reflection... this was HUGE ! here are some videostills.
