Details:
Another clear night and the comet continues to fade, being at magnitude 3.9-4.2. However, the comet continues to put on a good show. I followed the comet using the LCD screen in the back of my camera since it was no more a naked eye object, and even my 15x70 binoculars couldn’t locate it. The comet is presently in Ophiuchus. The bright star viewed just above the building is Marfik. The comet and stars of Ophiuchus are viewed to the right of the passing airplane’s lights. I first spotted the comet at 8:39pm and it set below the building at 8:59pm. Details: Canon 90D EOS camera, Canon 100-400mm lens set at 100mm, f=4.5, ISO 800, 4.0sec. exposure, Gitzo tripod, remote shutter release.
