Details:
During the great aurora of October 10/11 there were several occasions when a dune aurora (RAGDA aurora with gravity wave imprints) could be spotted in the skies over Germany. One even was visible in the southeastern part of the sky, so it may have been located over southern Poland.
The images were taken slightly north of the city of Berlin, Germany and it generally was the biggest and brightest aurora I have ever seen in Germany out of almost 100 sightings (in Germany) of the past 11 years. The red colors were brightly visible with the naked eye, which I've never seen like that.
The images are each composites of 13 individual pictures taken with a Samyang 12 mm f/2.8 lens, one in stereographic (all-sky), the other in rectangular projection (detail).
