October 10-11 (EDT) G4 storm seen from Shenandoah National Park, Central District overlooking Luray, Virginia. In this sequence, with only a persistent red and green glow, about midnight I decided to move to an east northeast facing overlook- the light dome of Washington DC about 80 miles distant on the horizon.
The storm, somewhat abruptly, began ramping up.
