Details:
The early morning session paid off, at least for me. We were completely covered by clouds last night and I finally cut my losses around 11:00 PM EST with the sky showing no sign of hope. I peeked out my window at 5:00 AM EST and noticed some of the brightest pillars I've seen sweeping across the northern horizon from west to east. I bolted outside and managed a few shots before the competing sunrise light overtook the aurora. A good solid 20 minutes of highly visible aurora and excellent movement.
