Details:
This event started out with an obviously bright aurora above fairly thick clouds at 8:30 PM CDT. However, the clouds later moved off, allowing the unusually bright and active aurora to shine all night. I sure didn't expect anything like this! Nikon D5 camera, Nikon 14-24 mm lens at 14 mm, f/2.8, ISO 3200 with exposures from 0.5 to 0.8 seconds.
