Details:
Last week, two powerful X-class solar flares (X7.1 and X9.1) and a series of smaller M-class flares hurled CMEs towards Earth. Three of them hit or grazed our planet between October 4 and 7. The most powerful CME hit the Earth on October 6. This triggered a strong G3-class geomagnetic storm with auroras at mid-latitudes and particularly intense in the skies of northern Europe. Witnessing these events is a unique experience, you are transported into a vortex of moving colored shapes and often you even forget to take a photo so as not to miss even a second of this breathtaking show! Finding yourself in the right place at the right time! This is what happened to us on vacation in Iceland. These are 3 of the most significant shots of the phenomenon we witnessed. Rossana Enrico
