Details:
The auroras were very bright, contained sharp pillar structures, and were extremely red to the unaided human eye. I live on the west side of town where the light pollution is minimal. I was out in my backyard, which is a freshly harvested soybean field, accompanied by all four of my roommates. We all had our chairs out in the field, listening to music, when all of a sudden, the sky rapidly changed from a quiet green arc to red pillars leaving overhead to the zenith. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience with my friends!
