Details:
The bright auroras lasted for half an hour around midnight ET (easy to see them and also distinguish the red hue) and then the auroras continue but not as bright. The SAR arc was noticeable before the auroras and lasted at least until 3:30 am ET. It was very nice seeing the arc going through Orion rising. Both images have minimal processing. Taken with Canon T3i and 16mm lens. Aperture is f/11 for the Aurora (I didn't realize about the wrong aperture setting until after taking this image) and f/4 for the SAR arc.
