Finally! After three nights in a row of getting up every hour or two to check if the forecast G3 aurora had arrived (it never did), a little G1 pops up and gives us a decent photographic display here in Wisconsin at N 44.5. The aurora was barely visible naked-eye as a low grey band deep to the North, but there was some nice color with bright green and some dimmer violet/red above it using the camera. For a short time the green had some sharper structure, but it only last a few minutes before turning to a soft green arc across the entire Northern horizon. Nikon full frame with 14mm Rokinon on Tripod. 2 sec exposure at ISO 12800, f2.4.
