Details:
This is a short animation of Comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS C/2023 A3 as it was rising on October 2, 2024. I used an ASI178MC camera, 28mm f/3.5 lens, mounted on a barn door tracker. The animation consists of 5 and 10 second exposures. I started out with 10 second exposures and as the comet was rising I had to switch to 5 second exposures since the twilight was getting brighter. Since I was tracking the comet the foreground appears to move down out of the field of view.
