Details:
During the solar storm of Sept 12-13, we happened to be on vacation in Iceland - in search of the Northern Lights. We were gifted with a light show that exceeded all expectations. We were looking for a spot to photograph the auroras, but my wife noticed a much different phenomena. It was a band of light rapidly approaching and it didn't look like the other green aurora. It was fast moving, more white in color with tinges of red and green. It crossed the sky in a matter of 30 seconds. I just had time to move my camera and frame it. I was able to get a few snaps off before it disappeared. I knew it had to be STEVE! An added bonus to a great night of auroras. Nikon D850, 14mm, f/4.
