I waited for the substorm to arrive into the wee hours of the morning, and at approximately 0600 UTC the substorm arrived. Imagine my surprise when I could see a Sun pillar forming below the Aurora and casting it's light to create a sun pillar, and a blue auroral pillar, pure magic.
