Details:
Photographed at Shenandoah National Park, Virginia. Auroras were photographic only. Promising evening looked like a flop after late afternoon Kp 7 faded to a 4. About 10:10pm EDT app alarms warned of a Kp5 and Bz was holding south. “Scout photos” with 14ProMax started showing some pink tinges awash in the waxing gibbous lit sky. Fired up the R5 and managed to collect something to show for the 175 mile round trip effort, albeit rather sparse. Used mostly 30 sec exposures, F2.8 3200 ISO. Transferred to phone to photoshop out the moonlit haziness in the sky. An otherwise pleasant evening in the Blue Ridge mountains.
