Details:
Our sun decided to kick off August with a bang. At 10:20 AM Argentina time, something hidden behind the southeastern limb triggered a powerful M 5.5-class explosion that lasted for quite some time. This explosion revealed beautiful plasma loops that reached over 100,000 km in height. I've seen these structures on other occasions, but never so large or long-lasting, as these loops were visible for more than 6 hours. It was truly an impressive spectacle that showcases the immense power of our star.
