Details:
13P/Olbers on the evening of 2024 August 26 UT was magnitude G=8.1 as calculated from 18x10s images taken thru a green filter in an aperture diameter of 7'. The mosaic image is composed of 2 images from August 25 and August 26 UT, both images were 18x10 seconds. The mosaic includes the magnitude calculation results from both evenings, G=8.0/8.1. The mosaic shows the comet 50' from the Black Eye Galaxy M64 on August 25 and 34' from the galaxy on August 26. The images were limited to 18x10s so that the stars and galaxy did not show as trails, this limit was the result of the equipment used, the resultant field of view, equipment errors and the comet moving at 2.4' per hour. Simply stated, the mosaic shows the comet, galaxy and stars with as little image manipulation as possible, which means that the mosaic does not show a beautiful comet or galaxy, but maybe a little reality. Sadly, I am surrounded by light pollution which shows up as a green hue in the images. The biggest surprise was having 2 evenings in a row without clouds in the western horizon.
