Details:
Today the Sun face has many sunspots in big groups. South hemisphere prevails as since March. The new ARs 3799, 3800, 3801, risen a couple of days ago, are now classified beta-gamma (joining 3790 and 3796), indeed they are dominating the activity, cracking with C- and M-flares, especially 3800 and 3801. AR3800 is interesting for its latitude (see today's homepage) and also because, while in white light it appears as an innocent group of small spots, in H-alpha it appears as this flaring ellipse. These three new regions are here caught flaring sympathetically. Sympathetic flares are not uncommon during solar maximum.
