My kid wakes me up at 2Am to see aurora. We immediately drove to darker skies. I grabbed the wrong camera. roughly f4, 400 ASA and 4 second exposures. That should let you know how bright they were. The colours and shimmering were beyond anything I have ever seen before. It beat the that big one that made the news a few months back. These pics are grainy, and while bright/contrast was adjusted, saturation was not. And that is Jupiter and Mars in the tree.
