Details:
I live near Flagstaff, AZ. When I was getting the alerts on August 11th and looking at the predicted Aurora line, I thought "well, they are not predicting an Aurora to be seen this far down into the U.S., but I am going to try to look for it anyway just in case." About every 1/2 hr, I would go outside and start snapping photos, but the sky was full of clouds, so I got discouraged. Then, around 12:15am, I noticed that the clouds had pretty much cleared up and when I took a photo looking North, I got SO EXCITED! I knew I had captured an Aurora. I took several images and couldn't believe the color! It was orange and pink!! I also captured the Milky Way, the Andromeda Galaxy, and my cabin in this image.
