Details:
We were at Higgins Lake, Michigan watching for Perseids. The aurora began as a light green, thin layer close to the horizon and suddenly within a minute, had grown into a curtain of these colors. Note the orange color on the far left side of the aurora. I have never seen this before. I would like to know what element causes this particular color to appear.
