Details:
Exactly 1 hour after sunset, I observed the first aurora with a Kp 6 index. For the next 12 minutes, tall rays were observed as blood red. Exactly 3 hours later, a 2nd CME ignited a Kp 7, G3 solar storm. Since clouds and smoke were expected, I retreated at 10PM from my hill top perch but by 11PM, activity was picking up. I elected not to climb the hill again but set up my Fujifilm X-T5, Fujinon 16-55mm f/2.8 in my backyard and went to sleep. At 12:10AM, the aurora storm started under partly cloudy skies and lasted ~35 minutes. I managed to capture a Perseid too. All in all, I was lucky to have captured anything.
