Details:
The aurora show of August 11/12 really brightened shortly after midnight local time (which is Central Standard Time) from my site in Grasslands National Park, in southwest Saskatchewan. The colours were visible to eye, though much more subtle than in the images. But this show was a good example of an aurora peaking at midnight when we are looking down the magnetic tail. However, the show was underway in the twilight sky 2 hours earlier.
