Details:
A fresh round of aurora made its way to Arizona horizons last night with Perseids blazing streaks over Merriam Crater northeast of Flagstaff. The display wasn't nearly as vivid as the one in May and no green that I could se this time around, but those pink/purple tops totally do it. To the eye, color wasn't apparent, but the brighter curtains could be picked out with averted vision. I could've done with 80% fewer clouds by this point, but so glad to catch the show out in the cinder cones with coyotes & owls calling out. A good mix of Perseids show up over the dancing aurora curtains in the time lapse, but man it's getting rough picking meteors out of all the insane satellite traffic. -----------------------
