Details:
On the 5th, 6th and 10th August there was sufficient thick atmospheric smoke haze close to the horizon for numerous sunspots to be observed on the setting Sun without the use of a solar filter. These are clearly visible in the accompanying still frame and time-lapse animations produced from video recordings made between 5.16 and 5.18 pm. Camera: Tripod-mounted Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS40 in sunset mode.
