13P/Olbers @ 2024 July 4, 21:27 UT Comet 13P/Olbers imaged on July 4, 2024, just at the beginning of the night, at 13° above the northwestern horizon, and during the brief minutes it was visible before becoming hidden by the observatory wall. At that moment, the comet was at its brightest with a magnitude of 7, showing a very dynamic 1-degree-long ion tail with visible structures. The faint trace of the dust tail could also be seen towards the bottom of the image. The brightest star in the field is 10 Ursae Majoris, with a magnitude of 4.
