Details:
Comet C/2023 V4 (Camarasa-Duszanowicz) photographed on July 3, 2024, precisely the day of its closest approach to Earth at a distance of 1.80 AU from our planet. Gaining altitude over the northern horizon and becoming circumpolar, I was finally able to capture it from the observatory after an almost endless series of cloudy nights. At a magnitude of 12.2 according to the brightness measurement, but still showing its dust tail about 6 arcminutes long. Located in the constellation Ursa Major, the brightest galaxy is NGC 2685 with a magnitude of 13.7. Telescope TS-Photon 8" N f/3.6 Mount SkyWatcher EQ6R-Pro Camera Atik 383L+ Exposure 35 min. (L=32x60 bin1 + RGB=1x60 bin2) Processed with PixInsight From Vallés, Valencia (Spain)
