Please Note: This is my image, thanks to Damian Peach for sharing information the other day on his FB page and his Patron Channel that I am a member of. He said on June 14th at around 11:00 UTC a double transit of Titan and Rhea ( Saturn's two largest moons ) occurs. Titan will appear quite dark against the bright cloud tops while Rhea's shadow will also be fairly easy to capture using larger apertures under good seeing. Transits of Titan are quite rare so for those where this is visible it is worth making the effort. I thought I would see what I could image. It turned out that for my area the Sun would be 20° above the horizon. So that would be a no-go for my area. I thought I would push my imaging luck as far as I could. On 06/14/24 at 5:18am EST from my Manorville, NY Observatory. I imaged moon Titan just before it started to transit. My imaging configuration was an ASTRO-PHYSICS 155mm f7 Starfire EDF - 6.1" aperture (155EDF) refractor The image camera was the Saturn-C SQR USB3.0 Color Camera (IMX533) and I stacked two Balows Tele Vue 2x POWERMATE and an ASTRO-PHYSICS 2x Convertible Barlow and a ZWO ADC. Kind Regards To ALL 🙂
