Details:
I divided my images in two sets. This is the first part with images #1 to #4, which were taken from Lake Erie's shore in Painesville, OH between 2:30 and 3:00 UTC on May 11th. These images try to show the first G5 storm conditions of the night showing more "reds" and "pinks" which were easy to see naked eye. Some other details to observe: - Images #1 and #2 show, of course, the moon and the different aurora colors reflecting on the lake. - Image #3 is a panorama made by stitching three individual images, so Photoshop may apply some local distortion to deal with the changing perspective and projection as one looks further up. - Image #4 is, of course, looking up. At moments the aurora covered more than half of the sky, even towards the south. All images were taken with an unmodified Canon T3i with a 16mm lens. The images have relatively little processing, just to reduce noise (most images were taken at ISO3200) and to increase color saturation and vibrance trying to reproduce the reality as close as possible. Also I added a little contrast enhancement.
