Details:
Sunspot AR3664 , in the attached image, was massive! It is 124,000 miles wide, equivalent to the size of 15 Earth diameters! Several Coronal Mass E see jections (CME) from this sunspot began striking the Earth on May 10th, resulting in the spectacular auroras visible world wide that night. This became the largest geomagnetic storm the Earth has experienced in almost 20 years! Historic! I imaged the attached photo of the sunspot on May 12th. Also attached are a few of my images of the auroras the night/ morning of May 10th & 11th. Notice the green color in the trees in one of the photos. It was a real privilege to witness nature unleashing one of its grandest shows!
