Details:
While flying the Dreamliner last night from Calgary Alberta to Rome Italy, the Aurora went absolutely insane for about 5 minutes just after we crossed the Hudson bay at 35,000 feet. We were over Northern Quebec at this time, and we watched the pillars grow towards us and fill the entire sky. What made this even more interesting, is that I was shooting directly south, and the color white was easily seen with the naked eye.
