Details:
Shortly after dark, the Southern sky over Philip Island,VIC, Australia, was illuminated with a green glow. Around 7pm, rainbow colours, naked eye beams with an incredible red halo covered the Southern sky all the way up to the Southern Cross, which was around 70 degrees above the horizon. It was a new experience witnessing the Southern Cross covered in red aurora beams. It was a magical experience. The same thing happened repeatedly later that night, with dancing curtains clearly visible in red, green, pink and purple hues, much to the awe of us spectators below.
