Details:
This image was taken at about 3am (10:00 UTC) on May 11th. The northern lights were still going strong, but this is looking towards the south with the bright pink band intersecting the summer Milky Way. I am not an expert, but it looked like a SAR Arc as it was disconnected from the main aurora, was brightest to the south, and was generally stretched from east to west. The clouds had a lovely purple hue. A wonderful ending to an incredible night of aurora gazing at 38.87 deg N in Colorado. Nikon P750, 14mm lens, f2.8, 20sec, 3200 ISO
