Details:
Amazing aurorae display in northwest Phoenix. Around 10pm a glow could be seen to the northeast but nothing spectacular. I took a ride out to the desert to find a little higher ground to see what might happen. At 11pm local time the aurora blew up. Clearly visible dancing pillars and lots of light (mostly white-ish but with a hint of red). The main display lasted about 5 minutes with it continuing at a less pronounced level for about 25 minutes longer. Awesome!
