Details:
On Tues April 16, I observed and imaged this arch filament. It varied in brightness a times. Then I realized that it had fade in the red wing of the Ha centerline. Then once I shifted down to the blue wing of the Ha centerline, the filament became quite darker and with more contrast.
I have attached two images here one in Blue wing of the Ha line and the red wing. Both were taken April 16, 2024 at 16:21 UT (blue wing) and 16:32 UT (red wing). Note that images are raw and they were not processed. You can see the blue wing image, the filament was dark and red wing image, it was much lighter.
This indicated that the arch filament was moving upward. I came up with the idea it might erupt soon or later as I stated in my email on Tuesday. Sure enough, it did erupt nine hours later.
The arch filament also was captured by the NSO - GONG website and I have included them here. It started to erupt on April 17th at approximately 1:00 UT and the filament just blew way.
